JUST ALLOW // Sometimes we hit walls in our thinking, in our old stories that have kept us safe. These usually show up as absolutes.
.
“Oh, I can’t dance.” Or, “It’s expensive to heal from Lyme disease.” Or, “I need a diagnosis in order to know how to treat my illness.” Or, “I’m never in the mood for sex.” Or, “I have to be the one to get my child well.” Or, “I can’t afford to pursue my passion.” Or, “I don’t have time for a new lifestyle change.” Or, “My relationship just is what it is.”
.
I always joke to my clients, “Oh! You know this for a fact?! This is a universal truth?!”
.
Then we can laugh and soften a bit and dig into my most favorite which is to “just allow for the possibility that…”
.
Can you allow for the possibility that you CAN dance? You don’t have to go so far as to believe that you are a good dancer. Nope. Just put a tiny door in that wall that is no dancing. Just allow for the possibility that maybe you could dance with lessons, or in the dark, or in the car, or with your kids, or to swing music.
.
In order to have a new reality we have to learn a new language. One outside of absolutes. One that has fluid language that gives room for change and transformation.
.
What possibility can you allow for today? What wall in your life needs a door?
